HI-Q® Fine Screen

The HI-Q® Fine Screen is the market leader in chemical pulp screening, and is also well suited for all medium to high consistency fine screening applications. With more than 1,000 installations, references are available on nearly every type of system.

The history of the HI-Q® Fine Screen goes back to 1964, when the first Centrisorter™ pressure screen was installed in Canada. It has been continuously developed since that time, with eleven different rotors brought to market over the years. Some of those were improvements over previous versions, and others were for specific applications. Today, the most common rotor is the low-energy and low wearing Luthi™ rotor, which saves considerable energy while providing excellent performance, and is simple and inexpensive to rebuild.

  • Suitable for most applications where the operating consistency ranges from approximately 1.5 to 4% OD
  • Wide range of model sizes
  • Several rotor styles are available to suit specific process requirements
  • Screen cylinders may be continuously slotted, either in a rebuildable or ring type design, or perforated, depending on the application
  • Simple V-belt drive
  • Optional top cover removal davit
  • Extremely efficient debris removal
  • High unit capacities
  • Very large installed base
  • Shares many mechanical components with the rest of the HI-Q® Screening product line, including the HI-Q® Knotter, the HI-Q® Rejects Separator, and the HI-Q® Fibresaver™ liquor filter, minimizing spare parts stocking requirements
  • For ease of maintenance the complete rotating assembly, including the driven sheave, is removed as an assembly from the top
