DD® Refiner

From the original inventors of the disk refiner, first introduced in 1955, comes the 5th generation DD® refiner, the DD®6000. Continuous improvement on features and designs of the DD series has led to the development of the most efficient and cost effective refining technology available. This innovative product offers 50% greater hydraulic capacity and 30% higher connected power than any other disc refiner available. In addition, a new patented plate design allows for even lower refining intensity and increased fiber strength development. The combination of increased capacity, power, and low intensity plate design allows larger, inefficient refiners to be replaced with the new, energy efficient design.

The patented Equa-Flo® technology improves refining results and refining efficiency while delivering the longest spline wear possible. Optimized flow distribution and improved rotor centering delivers stronger pulp at lower applied energy. The patented tangential inlet was incorporated to gain the benefits of pre-rotating the pulp flow. The design increases hydraulic capacity by 50% compared size-for size with other disc refiners. Optional patented keyed refiner plates maximizes the refining area by eliminating the bolt holes in the refining zone. An increase in valuable refining area lowers refining intensity and generates stronger pulp.
