Anti-Plate Clash System

GL&V has developed a patented solution to eliminate excessive refiner plate clash. With the Anti-Plate Clash System (APCS), when metal to metal contact is detected, the operator or DCS system unloads the refiner below the alarm set point protecting your refiner & plates.

The APCS can be installed as an option on rebuilt, new, or as a field upgrade on your existing low consistency refiners. The sensors detect axial vibration generated by the physical contact between the rotating elements and stationary plates converting the vibration into an electrical signal. This signal is sent to the DCS system where it is compared to a predetermined baseline when plate clash is not present.
