TamPulping® Process

GL&V’s new TamPulping® Recycle process is a unique and patented approach for producing high quality pulp from OCC and any other waste paper furnish. The pulping module provides a simple, reliable, and energy savings in the process to recycle paper. Our TamPulping Recycle system combines pulping, HD cleaning, and coarse screening into one process module.

The primary pulper vat consistency is typically between 4.0% and 5.0%. A special two layer design of primary pulper rotor provides effective slushing and protects the screen plate from wearing. The slushed pulp is diluted as it passes through the screen plate equipped with small slots or holes. This pulp can immediately be sent forward for fine screening. The unslushed reject remains in the system where it is diluted and transferred to the secondary atmospheric pulper. This provides extended retention time for difficult to defiber raw material.

The primary pulper level controls the reject outflow of the Clarifier. Dilution in the Clarifier allows removal of heavy debris from the pulp stream by gravity. The Clarifier replaces the need for high density cleaners. Subsequently the Clarifier operates better equal efficiency with a lower capital investment and zero pumping energy consumption. In the Secondary Pulper the controlled circulation intensity and additional retention time allows for recovery of deflakeable rejects from the Primary Pulper. The accepted pulp will be taken out through small perforations in the pulper screen plate.

Rejects from the top of the secondary pulper are continuously removed by the reject screw conveyor to the washing drum. The washing drum will separate any remaining good fibers from the rejects. The Filtrate Screen then removes remaining small plastic flakes from the reject drum accepts. In this way the circulation of small plastics in the pulping system is minimized. The filtrate screen accepts can then be used for pulper dilution.
