FlexTrim™ Tail Cutter

The GL&V FlexTrim™ Tail Cutter is designed to operate at the end of the Forming Section or into the Press Section. All components are selected to work in a Wet End environment and can work near a steam box where temperatures can reach up to 212°F (100°C). 

The sheet is cut with a high pressure water jet spray. The jet nozzle can be oriented for upward or downward cuts. Smooth and precise carriage travel ensures a clean cut.

  • Heavy duty 316 Stainless Steel construction.
  • Variable nozzle travel speed to meet operation requirements.
  • Nozzle carriage is driven by a gear motor and stainless steel chain.
  • Drive section is completely water sealed and air pressurized.
  • Proximity switches or an encoder (option) are used for precise nozzle positioning.
  • Simple push-button operation via a locally mounted control panel. PLC is available on request.
  • Hand wheel for emergency manual operation.
  • Handle has spring retract feature to ensure operator safety during drive operation.
  • All drive section components are assembled on a skid and can be pulled out of the main beam for easy off machine
  • maintenance.
  • The water jet hose is high temperature Teflon® technology and installed in a protective hose carrier for easy motion across the beam during operation.
