Copa® Tipping Bucket

Copa® Tipping Bucket

The Tipping Bucket is a simple and effective method for removing settled sediments in stormwater storage tanks preventing the risk of odour problems from a build up of septic silt.

Applications

The Copa® Tipping Buckets can be successfully used to clean open or below ground stormwater retention tanks and humus tanks. A single bucket can span upto a maximum tank width of 16 mtrs with a flushing length of up to 52mtrs. Smaller buckets are also available.

In some instances the Tipping bucket can be used to perform two functions

•  used to backwash a static emergency overflow screen such as the Copa Crosswave screen
•  to successfully remove settled sediments.

Operational Principle

Copa Tipping Buckets are capable of completely cleaning tank floors in one flush. When a storm tank has been drained, a signal from the control centre fills the bucket with either final effluent, or site water.

The bucket is finely balanced and when full the centre of gravity shifts causing the bucket to tip, flushing the tank.

Tipping Buckets can be either Coping Stone Mounted or Ceiling Mounted.

The emptying of the storm tank and the filling of the Tipping Bucket can be either manual or fully automatic.

Advantages

  • Robust simple design
  • Efficient cleaning action
  • Easy to install into new or existing retention tanks
  • Can be automated
  • Minimal maintenance
