The Excell® Aerator Dual Impeller Creates Higher Basin Velocities Using Less Power
The Dual Impeller Aerator is an example of new technology that emerged from demands in the marketplace for more flexible aeration equipment. This aerator consists of two impellers on the same shaft. The surface impeller is primarily responsible for aeration and mixing, while the lower impeller is used for efficiently mixing the lower sections of Carrousel® Systems basins. The Dual Impeller not only achieves increased floor scouring velocities in deep basins, but does this while consuming very low power – The power turndown capacity of Carrousel® Systems with Dual Impeller Aerators can be higher than 80%. Many Dual Impeller Aerators have VFD-controlled, single-speed motors that interface with our ACE™ Control System for optimizing aeration power and real-time process control. This provides our customers a proven solution for new treatment plants as well as for retrofitting existing Carrousel® System basins.
