The GL&V Ultra-Seal™ assembly is a mechanical seal designed to take the place of the packing between the Discharge Valve Assembly (DVA) and the washer drum discharge journal (trunnion). The Ultra-Seal design will retrofit to your existing GL&V DVA and is also included as a standard feature with every new DVA. The thermoplastic seal gland is loaded against the trunnion inner packing sleeve. This produces a very effective sealing surface and reduces wear on the trunnion packing sleeve as well as eliminating the need for packing. The Ultra-Seal technology has been reported to last 2 - 3 times longer than conventional packing in bleach and brown stock applications.
